Vengeance is sweet once again for Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks seem to remember the teams that have beaten them this season. That’s not a good thing for the opposition.

The Bucks improved to 4-0 this season in games against teams to have beaten them, and vengeance was sweet. Milwaukee rolled to an impressive 124-86 victory over the Miami Heat Tuesday night in a game decided early.

Using runs of 12-0 and 13-4 in the second quarter, the Bucks led by as many as 27 in the second quarter.

The lead went under 20 just once in the third quarter and never fell below 28 in the fourth quarter.

All told, the Bucks are 4-0 in rematches against teams that have beaten them, and the margins are 43 vs. Portland, 14 vs. New York, 13 vsl Boston and and now 38 against the Heat. That’s an average margin of 27.

With the margin so comfortable, Milwaukee was able to keep minutes down for its frontline players. That could prove advantageous as the Bucks travel to Memphis for a Wednesday night tilt against the Grizzlies. Memphis defeated the Bucks, 116-113, at Fiserv Forum back on Nov. 14.

In a 94-87 loss in Miami back on Dec. 22, the Bucks shot just 36.9% (31 of 84) and 20.9% (9 of 43) on 3-pointers. Tuesday began as a repeat performances, as the Bucks missed eight of their first nine shots. Miami held a 21-17 lead before the Bucks closed the first quarter on a 13-2 run for a 30-23 lead.

Milwaukee runs became the norm after that. Runs of 12-0 and 13-4 in the second quarter turned the game into an early laugher, as the Bucks led, 69-42 before Miami’s Justise Winslow hit a 3-pointer to end the half.

Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a modest triple-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Eric Bledsoe led Milwaukee (31-12) with 17 points, and Malcolm Brogdon added 16. Seven Bucks scored in double figures.

Hassan Whiteside and Winslow each scored 19 for the Heat. However, they were the only Miami players in double figures.

The Bucks committed just seven turnovers to 35 assists. Miami turned it over 18 times and made it to the free throw line just eight times making six.
