Depth and strong bench play have carried the Milwaukee Bucks through the playoffs, but the Toronto Raptors have turned the tables tonight.
Toronto’s bench is outplaying the Bucks’ bench by a large margin, and the Raptors have a 65-55 lead at the half in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals series.
Serge Ibaka has 12 points and nine rebounds, and Norman Powell has 10 points. Fred VanVleet has made both of his 3-pointers as the Toronto bench has outscored Milwaukee’s reserves, 28-8.
With Toronto star Kawhi Leonard limping his way to a 1-for-5 half for just five points, the Bucks have been outhustled throughout the first 24 minutes.
Malcolm Brogdon has missed all five of his shots off the Bucks bench after playing well in his first four games back from injury. Starter Nikola Mirotic, acquired for his 3-point shooting, is just 1 for 6 on 3-pointers and is clearly forcing shots in an attempt to get going.
Kyle Lowry leads the Raptors with 18 points.
Khris Middleton leads the Bucks with 16 points, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has 14.
