Intensity high as 76ers lead Bucks by a deuce at half

If the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers do meet in the Eastern Conference playoffs, the intensity is sure to be high.

The Sixers take a 58-56 lead into the half in a game that has already featured a few pushes, a couple of balls thrown at each other and the ejection of Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe.

Officials tossed Bledsoe on two technical fouls with 9:24 left in the first quarter after he and Sixers center Joel Embiid exchanged a couple shoves battling for position. The whistle blew as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 3-pointer went through. The ball landed in Embiid’s hands, and he tossed it at Bledsoe. Bledsoe caught it and threw it back at Embiid, only much harder.

After review, Embiid and Bledsoe were assessed technicals for their shoves, but only Bledsoe got a technical for throwing the ball. Philadelphia’s Mike Scott also was assessed a technical in the following scuffle.

As far as actual game action, the Sixers made their last four 3-point shots to turn what was a 44-38 deficit into their halftime lead. Ben Simmons’ driving layup with 4 seconds left is the difference.

Antetokounmpo leads all scorers with 21 points. Khris Middleton has added 11, but did not score in the second quarter.

JJ Redick leads the Sixers with 16 (4 of 5 on 3-pointers) and Embiid has 14.
