Giannis Antetokounmpo probable vs. Hawks

After missing the Milwaukee Bucks’ 113-106 loss against the Washington Wizards, Giannis Antetokounmpo is likely to play against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

The Bucks star could’ve played against the Wizards, but the team decided to sit him out for precautionary measures. Milwaukee wants to make sure Giannis Antetokounmpo gets a significant amount of breaks, so they capitalize on resting him during minor injuries like his sore quad.

It is important for the Bucks to closely monitor Giannis’ health. While he’s never had a major injury throughout his career, the Bucks are playing it safe. Plenty is at stake as the team is enjoying their strongest regular season run for the longest time.

Losing Antetokounmpo for a significant period of time could jeopardize their playoff push. They currently have the second best record in the East, and they would want to enter the playoffs with homecourt advantage, at least in the first two rounds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently one of the NBA’s top candidates to win the Most Valuable Player award this season, as he’s putting up 26.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, and six assists on a whopping 58 percent shooting from the field.

He is also the Eastern Conference’s leading vote-getter after the All-Star Game’s second voting returns.
