Bucks take 59-55 lead at half on strength of 3-point shooting

The Milwaukee Bucks seem determined to beat the Boston Celtics from the 3-point stripe.

Making 11 of 26 3-pointers, the Bucks hold a 59-55 lead at the half in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Khris Middleton leads the parade with 20 points, including 5-of-7 shooting behind the arc.

Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and George Hill closed the half with 3-pointers in the final 1:13, taking the Bucks from a 51-46 deficit to their 59-55 lead.

Trailing in the series, 1-0, the Bucks have attempted just 18 shots inside the arc, making eight of them. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been frustrated, going just 3 for 8 from the floor, but he’s made 7 of 10 free throws for 13 points. Antetokounmpo has attempted two 3-pointers, missing badly on both.

Al Horford continues to plague the Bucks, posting 12 points and 2-of-3 shooting on 3-pointers. But the Bucks defense has been stronger overall. Boston shot just 41.3% (19 of 46), with Kyrie Irving being held to 2-of-12 shooting for five points.

Jaylen Brown has 11 for the Celtics and Marcus Morris 10.

Bledsoe has 10 for the Bucks, including 2-of-3 shooting on 3-pointers. Bledsoe drilled a huge 3-pointer early in the second period with the Bucks down, 32-25, and the Celtics threatening to pull away.
