Pat Connaughton has provided a huge lift off the bench with 11 points and four rebounds, as the Milwaukee Bucks trail the Boston Celtics, 56-55, at the half of Game 3 in their Eastern Conference semifinals series Friday night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks with 14 points and seven rebounds, going 4 for 5 from the floor.
The Celtics have four starters in double figures, led by Kyrie Irving’s 13 points. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris have 11 each, and Jayson Tatum has 10.
The Celtics led by as many as 12, but Connaughton has led the Bucks to a 19-3 edge in bench points. Gordon Hayward’s 3-pointer late in the second quarter are Boston’s only bench points.
Games 1 and 2 were close at the half, with the winning team in each game pulling away in the third quarter.
Eric Bledsoe has struggled badly for the Bucks, going 2 for 10 and notching three fouls. Khris Middleton, who had 28 points in Game 2 Tuesday night, has been very quiet with just four points on 2-of-6 shooting.
