Hawks trim Bucks’ big lead down to 71-68 at half

A number of the Milwaukee Bucks’ best players are sitting, but the reserves have put on an entertaining first half.

Sterling Brown is leading the way with 14 points, including 4 of 4 on 3-pointers, and George Hill and Bonzie Colson — yes, Bonzie Colson — have chipped in 11 points each as the Bucks hold a 71-68 lead over the Atlanta Hawks.

Colson also has a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Bucks are resting Giannis Antetokounmpo (sprained ankle), Khris Middleton (groin) and Eric Bledsoe, but teh reserves got off to a torrid start in the first quarter to lead by as many as 23 points. The Bucks made 10 of 18 3-pointers in the first quarter before cooling off.

The Bucks have played a zone defense most of the half. While it stymied the Hawks early, Atlanta has adjusted.

The Hawks trimmed the 23-point deficit to two late in the half. Each team has made 13 3-pointers.

De’Andre Bembry leads Atlanta with 11 points, and John Collins and Justin Anderson have 10 each.
