If Pau Gasol has anything left in the tank, he’s hoping it fuels another ring drive.
According to reports, Gasol has reached a buyout agreement with the San Antonio Spurs and will sign with the Milwaukee bucks when he clears waivers.
Gasol won championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010 and 2011. At 38, no one knows for sure what Gasol has left in the tank. He only has played in 27 games this season, averaging 12.2 minutes, averaging 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. He missed 26 straight games with a stress fracture in his foot.
But Gasol is reputed to be a great teammate and a great locker room presence.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Bucks reportedly have solved one of their summer dilemmas. They signed guard Eric Bledsoe to a four-year, $70 million extension. They’ll still have plenty of work in the summer, but one job is done.
Is that not enough pre-game news? Well, Friday afternoon the Bucks learned Giannis Antetokounmpo was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for February, and coach Mike Budenholzer was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month.
It’s the third time this season Antetokounmpo has won the monthly award and the fourth time in his career.
For Budenholzer, the award is his second straight win for the monthly award and fourth in his career.
