Late run gives Bucks 53-47 lead over Celtics at half

An 8-0 run to close the half gave the Milwaukee Bucks a 53-47 trlead over the Boston Celtics at the half in both teams’ return from the all-star break.

Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton hit 3-pointers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo made a pair of free throws to give the Bucks their biggest lead of the game in what has been an uneven performance thus far.

The Bucks trailed, 17-6, early, as poor shooting and a spate of turnovers hurt them early.

Milwaukee shot just 36.4% (8 for 22) in the first quarter.

Khris Middleton leads the Bucks with 12 points, including two 3-pointers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has 11. Nikola Mirotic has made his debut with the Bucks and tallied his first points on a put-back early in the second period. He has not attempted a 3-pointer.

The Bucks have committed 10 turnovers and had five shots blocked. They’re shooting 44.4% (20 for 45).

Al Horford and Jaylen Brown lead the Celtics with 10 points each. Boston is shooting just 36.5% (19 of 52).
