The Milwaukee Bucks appeared in control for the first 50 percent, but had to rally from a second 50 percent swoon to overtake the Indiana Pacers, 106-97, and cement their position as the league’s most effective group heading into the All-Star crack. It was the “Giannis Antetokounmpo Special” in the first quarter, when he outstripped his output from the whole previous Pacers video game with 13 factors to lead Milwaukee to a 26-18 benefit. The Bucks and Pacers played each individual other even at 29-all in the second quarter, sending Milwaukee into halftime with a 55-47 lead. Milwaukee went chilly in the 3rd, as the Pacers made up a lot of floor to vault forward 79-76 heading into the fourth. It arrived down to the wire, but the Bucks went on a scoring spree late to pull this crucial victory out.
Giannis plainly took the previous Pacers video game individually, as he appeared like a man on a mission all night from the defense of Thaddeus Youthful. On both finishes, he appeared to deter shots, make his possess and make a lot of open looks for teammates en route to 1 magnificent stat line: 33 factors, 19 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and 1 block. That is a jumbo-sized triple-double if I’ve at any time seen 1.
The rest of the starters had a peaceful night thanks to the diligent defense of the Pacers, with Malcolm Brogdon as the other higher man at 17 factors. Khris Middleton had a difficult night at the office with just 5-16 shooting, but his 15 factors were buttressed by his generation competencies at 5 assists and a clutch triple down the extend. It was not Eric Bledsoe’s night (just four factors in 21 minutes), but Ersan Ilyasova appeared spry all over again in including 11.
It was a scoring by committee night for the Pacers, who have to have contributions from across the roster with Victor Oladipo out. Bojan Bogdanovic led all their scorers with 20 factors. They had four others in double figures though, with Domantas Sabonis and Darren Collison both chipping in 14. Myles Turner had 11 factors and Tyreke Evans had 10.
Stat that Stood Out
11-. Milwaukee located their way immediately after a slumping night from 3 and the Pacers walling off the paint in the second 50 percent, but it took right until the remaining several minutes to get there. Adhering to Thaddeus Young’s triple with just less than 5 minutes to go that place the Pacers up 95-93, Giannis and co. proceeded on an 11- run in the clutch that salted this video game absent. Giannis attacked the rim a lot, but even extra importantly, the Bucks switchy defense in a jumbo lineup held the Pacers at bay. More kudos to Brook Lopez for his dancer’s ft when switched onto guards.
