Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied 16 points and eight rebounds, and Sterling Brown’s eight points are leading a strong bench effort as the Milwaukee Bucks have broken away from a first-quarter tie to a 64-51 lead at the half over the Dallas Mavericks.

The Bucks opened the game with an 8-0 run before settling on a 29-29 tie, then opened the second quarter with a 16-5 run. The lead reached 62-45 before the Mavericks used a pair of 3-pointers to trim the deficit. The Bucks bench has a 20-11 advantage.

The Bucks are playing without all-star forward Khris Middleton, who is being given the night off for rest. They also are without new acquisition Nikola Mirotic, who is in Milwaukee taking a physical.
