Defense helps Bucks to first-quarter lead over Nets

It took a few possessions for the Milwaukee Bucks to solve the Brooklyn Nets’ zone defense, but Giannis Antetokounmpo got into the open court enough to score nine points and lead his team to a 23-17 lead after a quarter.

The Bucks are looking to close out their five-game road trip with four straight wins after an opening loss at Oklahoma City Jan. 27.

While the Bucks sputtered a little offensively, they played well at the defensive end, holding the Nets to 24% shooting (6 for 25).

Antetokounmpo made all three of his free throws, giving him 20 straight after Saturday night’s 17-for-17 performance at Washington.
