Giannis Antetokounmpo is back and making a difference.
After missing Friday night’s loss in Washington, Antetokounmpo has scored 18 first-half points as the Milwaukee Bucks hold a 64-55 lead at intermission over the Atlanta Hawks.
Antetokounmpo’s offense has helped the Bucks overcome some serious deficiencies on the boards. Atlanta owns a 31-15 lead on the boards, with 11 offensive rebounds.
Eric Bledson has chipped in 13 points for the Bucks, and Khris Middleton has 12 points, five rebounds and three assists, going 6 for 9 from the field.
Rookie Trae Young leads the Hawks with 12 points, and center Alex Len has added 10 points and eight rebounds — five offensive — off the bench.
While the Hawks have doubled the Bucks on the boards, they’ve nearly tripled them in turnovers. Atlanta has 14 turnovers to just five for Milwaukee.
Antetokounmpo has gone 7 for 9 from the line, matching the Hawks’ team total.
