Chilly overnight showers cleared out by Sunday morning, setting the tone for a drier and sunnier weather pattern to come.

After the rain, a cold fog was left in the metro area, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon.

Sunday started cold, with temperatures in the 30s, and is forecast to warm up to about 50 degrees, Deon said. That is slightly cooler than average for this time of year.

Clouds are expected to linger, causing low visibility on the roads Sunday morning.

There aren’t any major lane closures or roadwork projects to clog up roads Sunday, so once the roads dry, conditions should provide delay-free interstates, barring major wrecks.

This means those heading to the Hawks game against the Milwaukee Bucks shouldn’t have to plan for lengthy delays to State Farm Arena. The game tips off at 3:30 p.m.

As temperature rise over the course of this week, the chance of rain drops, Deon said. After Sunday, there’s no rain in the forecast until Friday.

The week is expected to see a fair deal of sun.
