Big fourth quarter lifts Bucks past Jazz

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored nine of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, and Thon Maker provided a huge lift off the bench with 15 points as the Milwaukee Bucks rallied for a 114-102 victory over the Utah Jazz Monday night at Fiserv Forum.

Milwaukee trailed at the end of each of the first three quarter before taking over in the final 12 minutes.

Maker scored seven of his points in the final period, as Milwaukee outscored Utah, 31-16, in the final period.

With the victory, Milwaukee continues to be the only team in the NBA to not suffer consecutive losses this season.

Kyle Korver’s 3-pointer gave Utah an 89-85 lead with 11:25 left, but the Jazz missed nine of its next 10 shots and Milwaukee went on a 15-5 run for a 100-93 lead.

The Jazz stayed within 102-99 on Rudy Gobert’s two free throws with 4:46 left, but Malcolm Brogdon swished a 3-pointer from the left corner. After a traveling violation on Gobert, Antetokounmpo dunked off a nice feed from Brook Lopez with 3:41 left to make it 107-99.

Lopez put the game away with a long 3-pointer that gave the Bucks a 112-101 lead with 2:20 left.

All told, Utah made just 3 of its final 14 shots from the field and committed five turnovers in the final 10 minutes.

Donovan Mitchell, who led Utah with 26 points, did not score in the fourth quarter and committed three of his seven turnovers.

Utah led by as many as 11 in the third quarter and was 10 for 10 when Mitchell’s triple gave the Jazz a 74-65 lead with 9:07 left in the third. From there, the Jazz made just four of its last 18 3-pointers.

Malcolm Brogdon added 21 points for the Bucks (28-10), as Milwaukee improved to 11-0 following a loss. Lopez matched Maker’s 15 points, giving the Bucks 30 from the center position. The two combined for 11-of-14 shooting, 5 of 7 on 3-pointers. Khris Middleton added 14.

Utah (20-21), lost point guard Ricky Rubio with a strained hamstring after he scored nine points in the first 4:26.
