Mike Budenholzer’s old team has been no match for his new team.
Malcolm Brogdon scored 15 points, and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 12 points as the Milwaukee Bucks have raced to a 76-43 lead over the Atlanta Hawks at halftime.
The Bucks bolted from a 5-5 tie in the first quarter with a 31-7 run and pushed the lead to as many as 38 points at 76-38 before the Hawks scored the last five points.
The Bucks are looking for their fifth straight victory and ninth in the last 10 games.
Eight different Bucks have scored at least five points, and Milwaukee shot 53.6% (30 for 56) in the half. The Bucks have dominated at both ends, holding the Hawks to 36.6% shooting (15 for 41) and forcing 13 turnovers while committing just two. The Bucks also have blockd five shots.
Rookie guard Kevin Huerter leads the Hawks with 10 points.
Holding the huge lead throughout the second half could prove important, as Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer could rest players for tomorrow’s big game against the Toronto Raptors.
