Bucks manage pretty finish to lead after ugly half

Somehow, the Milwaukee Bucks are holding a one-point lead over the Miami Heat at the half of Saturday night’s game in Miami.

Tony Snell’s 3-pointer from the right corner with 0.9 seconds left gave Milwaukee a 38-37 lead after a half of ugliness on both sides.

How ugly has it been?

— The Bucks scored a season-low eight points in the first quarter.

— Giannis Antetokounmpo does not have a field goal in three attempts and has four turnovers.

The Bucks trailed, 21-8, after a quarter, and the deficit reached 26-9 on Kelly Olynyk’s 3-pointer with 10:35 left in the half.

But when the offense struggled, the defense excelled. Eventually, the Bucks started making some shots.

Brook Lopez has three of the Bucks’ six blocks, and Milwaukee outscored the Heat, 29-11, the rest of the way after Olynyk’s 3-pointer.

While the Bucks are shooting just 35% (14 of 39), the Heat are even worse at 34.1% (15 of 44).

Lopez leads all scorers with nine points, including a loud rise-and-slam dunk after faking a 3-pointer and driving from the left corner.

Josh Richardson leads the Heat with seven points.
