The New Orleans Pelicans closed the half with a 24-8 run without start forward Anthony Davis, taking a 66-62 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks at the break.
Darius Miller leads the Pelicans with 17 points. Davis has 14, but limped off the floor in the last minute of the first period and did not play in the second quarter. Davis went down an a heap of plaers and came up holding his ankle. The Pelicans report he is questionable to return with illness.
The Bucks scored amazing balance through the first 20 minutes, with eight players posting at least eight points and another with four. Tony Snell’s three 3-pointers helped the Bucks to a 54-42 lead with 5:51 left in the half.
The Pelicans hit three 3-pointers in the last 3:20 of the half and are 12 of 23 behind the arc. New Orleans has already exceeded its average of 10 3-pointers made per game.
Miller is 5 for 8 behind the arc.
The Bucks are 8 for 17 behind the arc.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton lead the Bucks with 10 points each.
