The Milwaukee Bucks have a second-half mountain to climb thanks to some cold shooting on an Indiana winter night.
The Bucks shot just 34.8% (16 of 46) in the first half and trail the Indiana Pacers, 58-43, after 24 minutes. The shooting was even worst until the Bucks made six consecutive shots in a run late in the second quarter.
Indiana lead by as many as 19, as th eBucks went through a 2-for-19 drought. Khris Middleton is having another Arctic evening, going 1 for 8 from the floor. He missed two shots in the final 29 seconds of the half. Milwaukee has made just 5 of 20 from beyond the arc.
The Pacers haven’t had any trouble getting the ball to fall. They’re shooting 53.3% (24 of 46), including 5 of 11 on 3-pointers.
Eric Bledsoe is doing his best to keep the Bucks in it, having scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. At the other end of the spectrum, backcourt mate Malcolm Brogdon is scoreless on 0-for-3 shooting in 12 minutes. Giannis Antetokounmpo has just six points and has a dismal plus-minus rating of minus-27.
The Pacers, meanwhile, have all three of their frontcourt starters in double figures: Myles Turner 14, Thaddeus Young 12 and Bojan Bogdanovic 10.
With the Bucks missing so many shots, they’re also getting clubbed on the boards, 30-20.
