Giannis Antetokounmpo sparked a 13-0 run in the first quarter, and the Milwaukee Bucks have taken a 66-61 lead at the half over the New York Knicks.
Antetokounmpo has scored 12 points and eight rebounds to lead four Bucks players in double figures. Eric Bledsoe has 11 points, and Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton have 10 each.
Damyean Dotson leads the Knicks with 13 points off the bench, and Emmanuel Mudiay has 12.
The Bucks have made 10 of 22 3-pointers, while New York is 9 for 17 behind the arc.
The Knicks jumped to a 17-10 lead, capped by a fast-break dunk by forward Mario Hezonja, with Antetokounmpo trailing.
Hezonja then made the mistake of stepping over Antetokounmpo on his way back up the court. Antetokounmpo didn’t appreciate it, and sparked a 13-0 Bucks run by assisting on a 3-pointer and dunking on a fast break.
The Bucks led, 35-28, after a quarter and pushed the lead to 50-37 on Middleton’s 3-pointer with 7:34 left in the second quarter before the Knicks started to cut into the lead. Mudiay made two free throws with 1:25 left and a 3-pointer with 48.2 seconds left to get the Knicks within five at the break.
