Brook Lopez opened the game with a 3-pointer, and the Milwaukee Bucks raced out to a 26-11 lead, but the San Antonio Spurs rallied behind the shooting of Davis Bertans to take a 36-34 lead before settling for a 37-36 deficit at the end of the first quarter.
Bertans made all four shots he took including three 3-pointers, to rally the Spurs in the last five minutes of the quarter.
The Bucks re-took the lead on three Giannis Antetokounmpo free throws with 0.5 seconds left as he was fouled attempting a desperation shot from 65 feet.
Lopez, who went 0 for 12 on 3-pointers in Friday night’s 116-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns, had the first play called for him, and he drained the shot from out top.
Eric Bledsoe’s fast-break dunk gave the Bucks a 27-11 lead with 5:09 left, prompting a timeout by San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich. He subbed out all five of his starters, and Bertans’ shooting quickly got the Spurs back into the game.
Bertans leads all scorers with 11 points. Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks with nine.
