For the third straight home game since returning from the West Coast, the Milwaukee Bucks got off to a slot start and are facing a double-digit deficit.
The Denver Nuggets scored the last four points of the first quarter for a 29-25 lead, then extended the run to 17-2 in the opening minutes of the second quarter. The lead went as high as 17 before the Nuggets settled on a 56-46 lead at the half at Fiserv Forum.
The Bucks used a mini run at the end of the half cut it to 10, as Brook Lopez’s 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left closed the half on an up note for Milwaukee.
Jamal Murray leads the Nuggets with 11 points, and guard Gary Harris and center Nikola Jokic have nine each.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has 12 points to lead the Bucks, who have missed 5 of their 9 free throws.
The Bucks also faced big, double-digit deficits Friday against the Chicago Bulls and last Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies. They put together big second-half runs in each game, but lost against the Grizzlies.
