In spite of another third quarter stumble, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New York Knicks on Monday to continue their perfect start to the season.
Although it’s safe to say their third quarter performance was far from perfect, with nothing but wins at Fiserv Forum, and to start the regular season, the Milwaukee Bucks remain perfect where it matters.
As they had indicated with their play in their first three games, the New York Knicks proved to be a highly competitive and gritty opponent, but in the end the Bucks’ quality showed to allow Mike Budenholzer’s team to move to 3-0.
The same fundamental elements were there for the Bucks as were evident in their previous wins. Milwaukee shot 42.5 percent on their 40 three-point attempts, racked up 55 rebounds, and 27 assists, while limiting fastbreak points and forcing mid-range efforts for their opponents.
A quick shooting start opened up a nice early cushion for Milwaukee, but it would be one they’d end up needing as they fell into a similar trap to their first two games in cooling off significantly to start the second half.
The Bucks were able to rally that storm, though, as the team’s star trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe all delivered standout performances to push Milwaukee across the line.
With all of that in mind, let’s take a closer look at how the individual Bucks players performed in picking up their third straight win as they bested the Knicks on Monday night.
